Clients looking for a hands-off approach to navigating the insurance reimbursement process are welcome to use a service called Mentaya, which submits claims on clients' behalf and sends them the reimbursement funds. Mentaya charges 5% of the session fee per claim. I receive no financial incentive or benefit whether clients use Mentaya or not - it's purely offered for client convenience.
If you'd prefer to submit the claims on your own and avoid the 5% fee, I would provide you with superbills (essentially a receipt of services), which you would then submit to your insurance company.
I understand therapy is a major investment, and I take that responsibility very seriously. Please know that your investment is being put to work beyond the therapy hour – behind the scenes, I’m spending a great deal of time and money towards continuing education, supervision, gathering resources to share with you, and preparing for your session. It’s of the utmost importance to me to help you achieve the change you’re looking for as effectively and efficiently as possible. My clients and I collaborate so there’s a mutual understanding of where they are in the growth process session by session.
You are welcome to reschedule your sessions with me as needed, but please provide 24-hours notice. You are responsible for paying the full session fee for any cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment. This is important because both of our time is valuable, and that window is reserved specifically for you.
I offer both in-person and telehealth appointments. For telehealth, I use Zoom for Healthcare (the HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom). Please note that I am licensed in Maryland, which means clients must be located in Maryland at the time of the appointment.
